This piece was originally written for the Arnies Quartet while I was studying in the HSCI at Berklee school of music in Boston. It is a exploration of the different meanings and implications of the word breathless.
This piece is relatively easy for intermediate player and perfect for a rising group to use to improve their melding as a group. Its first movement is an exercise in patience and tuning a well as gliss. The second movement is a great movement to practice 5/4 and interplay between members. The third movement is a challenge on the technical side of things as well as an exercise in counterpoint. Overall this Quartet is a great project for an intermediate group trying to take themselves to the next level.
